Expotechnik was established in 1968 based on the idea to design, realize and rent exhibition stands. Through innovative systems and strategic expansion, the company developed from a traditional trade show booth builder to an international service provider for brand architectures. By now, the Expotechnik Group is one of the leading full-service providers in the field of trade shows, events and three-dimensional presentations.
In widespread use all over the world today, the idea was genuinely new in 1968: trade show booths for rent. With this idea, Heinz H. Soschinski built the foundation for his success. The Diehl company was one of the first clients to recognize and benefit from the potential offered by the new approach, with its presentation at the CeBiT in 1970. The company then began to develop its first proprietary system solutions with the aim of achieving greater efficiency. In 1971, production got under way in Taunusstein, and the company 'Messedesign Soschinski' became Expotechnik. From then on, well-known brands came to utilize the company’s design and system capabilities.
A major milestone in the history of Expotechnik was the realization of a trade show presentation in Wiesbaden for GE Medical. The company stayed on budget with this project, which was quite unusual in the U.S. at that time. The company’s management, pleased at this performance, commissioned Expotechnik Group in 1978 to design and realize a 700-square-meter trade show booth in Atlanta. With this project, the corner stone for the international business was laid. Other clients followed, Expotechnik’s reputation grew, and new products were continuously developed.
In 1988, Heinz Soschinski received support from his brother Peter. The two of them decided to utilize and expand upon the international opportunities that were available. They successfully made the jump over the Atlantic: Atlanta became the nerve center for Expotechnik’s operations in the United States. Locations in Melbourne and Singapore followed. The clients commissioning the Expotechnik Group with international trade fair projects also included German firms, such as Schott and MAN Roland. At the same time, development of new products and solutions flourished.
The company entered the new millennium still firmly on track toward global expansion, with additional branch locations in Tokyo, Shanghai, and Mexico City. Expotechnik Group established a presence, ensuring that its services are available in the major markets to the same high quality standard its customers have come to expect – and began realizing foreign trade fairs as well, efficiently and even on short notice. In 2008, Heinz H. Soschinski retired from active professional life and passed the reins to the next generation, whose members continue to pursue the vision laid out by the company’s founder and guide Expotechnik Group into the future.
Personal dedication on the part of each and every employee and the revolutionary vision pursued by Heinz H. Soschinski have established Expotechnik Group on the market as an innovation leader. Multinational customers put their trust in the company’s quality and effectiveness. With its focus on high-quality presentation, outstanding creativity and passion, and the courage to do the unusual, Expotechnik Group will continue to occupy a special position within the industry and stand out from the competition.
