Taunusstein/Hanover, November 2010.
For Phonak and Sona, both manufacturers of hearing instruments and part of the Swiss Sonova Group, Expotechnik Group has designed and built four superior trade show booths at EUHA Congress – the International Congress of Hearing Aid Acousticians. The congress took place in Hanover from October 13 to 15. The four booths complemented one another and served as individual interfaces between visitors and Phonak/Sona staff. The central topics of hearing and hearing loss were realized under the motto "Innovation in motion".
Platform for staging a new generation of hearing aids
The center of Phonak's presentation was a 400 square meters main booth completely covered by a beam-column roof construction made of glass. The complete architecture creates a harmonious platform for presenting the entire product portfolio. The core element of the booth is a large-scale 12x3 meters LED wall showing groundbreaking technologies such as the holistic innovation concept Phonak Spice Generation: innovative hearing systems with fastest sound and signal processing power, highest capacity, largest memory and smallest size.
Sound lounge: experiencing emotions
To distinguish Phonak from its competitors in the industry, Expotechnik Group took up the challenge of presenting the products of Phonak in an outstanding way and making them an emotional experience. For this purpose, a special booth element was integrated into the architecture: a sound lounge enabling visitors to dive into a brand experience world that can be heard and sensed. The advantage of the new generation of binaural hearing aids is demonstrated by acoustic sounds and visual LED stripes in the glass floor. Binaural hearing systems interact with one another: radio waves transmit audio signals between left and right ear. The signals are recalculated which leads to improved speech intelligibility in environments with high noise levels. The entire floor space features multimedia communication and presentation tables. Furthermore there is a glass training room which is used to present the Phonak product lines.
Setting for staging an innovation
A 60 square meters booth sets the stage for the innovative Phonak product Lyric. The spotlight is on the first invisible hearing aid: it can be used 24 hours a day for up to four months. The presentation is visually supported by cameras demonstrating the comfortable and easy operation of the device.
Exhibition architecture with ball elements
The newly found Sona company which is also part of the Sonova Group was presented at another trade show booth. Colored surfaces and ball elements distinguish the 30 square meters booth architecture from its surrounding area. Expotechnik Group has designed a visually appealing modern, fresh and dynamic brand presentation for the first trade show appearance of the young company.
"Hear the World" in a brand presentation
"Hear the World" is a global initiative launched by Phonak in 2006. The campaign aims to increase global awareness about the topics of hearing and hearing loss, and provides information on prevention and solutions. The musician Bryan Adams has taken photos for the initiative showing several notable and committed celebrities including Ben Kingsley and Jude Law with a hand behind their ear. Visitors to the 20 square meters booth are photographed making the same gesture and the portraits taken are inserted into personal newsletters. With this comprehensive overall concept, Expotechnik Group has realized a strong brand presentation for Phonak, staging the brand in an emotional and a three-dimensional way that emphasizes its superior quality.
About 16 million people in Germany suffer from impaired hearing and the number is still increasing. About 17 to 20 million people have hearing problems according to representative surveys. Only one in five of those concerned accepts his or her hearing problem and uses the help of modern and innovative technologies. Phonak's major objective is to improve the hearing ability and speech intelligibility of people suffering from impaired hearing, thus improving their life quality. The Swiss hearing device manufacturer has been developing and producing leading high-tech hearing and wireless communication systems for more than 50 years.
EUHA – European Union of Hearing Aid Acousticians e. V. – is the organizer of the 55th International Congress of Hearing Aid Acousticians which took place in Hanover from October 13 to 15, 2010. EUHA is the most important European congress of the industry. The associated trade show regularly presents innovations in the industry and improvements of existing in-the-ear and behind-the-ear systems which allow for increasingly better hearing.
